Log

  1. 8/2/2011: Rhizome has appeared, under Lexia.
  2. 7/30/2011: 2 gig memory to notebook. Learned how to use Macro Magic to quickly build macros. Add libraries to NTP.
  3. 7/29/2011: Waffle, but stick with DW for project development. (Even deploying Macro Magic.) MM in background as direct production occurs within DW. Expanding and deepening methodology of hypertext. About to surge.
  4. 7/25/2011: Revived the first assignment: intersection of economy and sustainability. Strategy: add term paper proposal and initial log (to be graded) early, then push the essay until late October or early November.
  5. 7/24/2011: Site work but DW better than ever for project management: see sequence for EEE. Lovins very informative and useful to define another form of capitalism, continuing theme of alchemy. Continues Natural Capitalism theme.
  6. 7/21/2011: DW maturing and reinforced. Block structure w links superior to, say, MM or OneNote. Cloud availability an enormous benefit.
  7. 7/20/2011: Set up for ENST30501 (syllabus + schedule), at last. NB: MM peripheral to this project but the structure and definition provided by html + DW worked better, but hard to get up to speed, as it is with DW. This is thus direct not intermediate steps. So much better working in DW for both substance and project. Learning lots of tricks. Tables need work. Start now takes work in progress. Properties box and code inspector now mandatory.
  8. 7/16/2011: Up too late but substance up and process unfolding. Got too tired.
  9. 7/15/2011: Templates fail (html 4 needed --- DW is fussy). So learning how to learn DW, with fine results. Recoverning ample prior work. Set up PW5 keyboard shortcuts w ^H.
  10. 7/14/2011: Revive DW and profwork project, awkwardly: DW not set up on Acer and I am rusty. Provisional decision to move project build from (untrustworthy) MM to DW, less sleek and more cumbersome. Start around ESS 2.0 -- see build 4.5.

Assess

  1. Telos: html loads to cloud, ubiquitous and indexed. Thus, html achieves status of end, not means (MM, 1N). DW self-reinforcing.
  2. DW massive, complex, bulky, but awesome. Few grasp it (AV, ME don't). But, I own it and have produced. Great for incremental build RAD.
  3. Superiority of html over msw docs. Elevate into superstructuralism level. html goes anywhere and dwells accessibly in the cloud.
  4. Relative to MM: 1 Full, formatted text captured and developed, not just sprawling, cryptic abstract titles. 2 Written products to cloud, not worrisome and partial maps. 3. TBL's masterful style and substance revived. This text travels well. 4 Prints and gathers in binders, not ff.
  5. OneNote as companion for utility that take some of the pressure off DW. Great indexing.
  6. ReWork method: KISS rule, understated and simplified. Add feature set later and beneath main text flow.
  7. My flow experience achieved in DW, whole html, cloud process. Linked data is inherently powerful (TBL talk), adaptable, flexible. Beats "hugging" data.
